NO WAR WITH IRAQ

Immortalized by international reggae star Ras Bob Nesta Marley, this address to the League of Nations by Haile Selassie I, Ras Tafari, whilst Ethiopia was under a brutal attack by fascist forces, prophesized his visions concerning the future of international affairs:

"Until the philosophy which holds one race superior, and another inferior, has been finally, permanently, discredited and abandoned; until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all, without regard to race; until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; until that day, our dreams of lasting peace, world citizenship and the rule of international morality, will remain but a fleeting illusion to be pursued, but never obtained."

Well, it is "a' this here time- everyday Armageddeon," to borrow from the Jamaican patois, which signifies the realization of the constancy of effort required to create radical transformation on a personal as well as global level. Every day is the "End Times" of biblical prophecy, an opportunity to realign ourselves with what we know in our hearts to be True; NOT the biblical interpretation of Armageddeon espoused by literal-minded war-mongers with ultra-simplified conceptualizations of the higher orders of reality (i.e currently Ashcroft, Bush, the 'Conservative Christian Right'), this mentality has used religious doctrine to justify their own terrible and cruel acts for millenia.
We shall not allow jingoistic rhetoric of an "ultimate evil," nor the alluring financial rewards for the elite, to occlude our clear perception of the matter at hand: the dealing of death and degradation to mass numbers of an unarmed, impoverished civilian population. There is no valid justification for conquering Iraq and reconstructing it solely in an effort to satisfy the egotistical and immature whims and desires of a group of wealthy capitalists. NO BLOOD FOR OIL!
