Scotland's housing system is broken and we are all, quite literally, paying the price. With far too little social housing available, people are being pushed into the private rental market. Demand for these properties drives up rents and house prices for us all.

Young people can't afford to move out. Key workers are being priced out of the communities they serve. Families are being forced to cut back on essentials. For many, the dream of a secure, affordable home is just that: a dream.

This is the cost of a lack of social housing - and it's a cost we can no longer afford.
