Demand Indictment for Ex APD-Officer James Burns for the murder of Devaris Caine Rogers that occurred on June 22, 2016

On June 22, 2016 then Atlanta Police Officer James Burns shot into the vehicle driven by Devaris C Rogers striking him in the head; which was fatal: “The force used was ruled excessive because there was no obvious threat made toward the officer,” said Sgt. Warren Pickard, an APD spokesman. Also the GBI has said there was no weapon recovered from the vehicle that Rogers drove away in.
