Communities Experiencing Crime Want Support!

In 2007, Adela's sister-in-law, Laura, was shot and killed in front of her Los Angeles home. Suddenly, Adela found herself supporting her brother in raising Laura's four children, who struggled to deal with the trauma of their mother's murder - including witnessing it.
Adela also found herself getting angry. She was tired of the crime that affected her community and the lack of support for families experiencing these crimes. Tell local lawmakers that crime victims and their families need support!
There's only one trauma center for crime victims in the entire state of California, but lawmakers could use existing state funds to create more. If you have experienced crime in your family or community and would like a trauma center in your area, please sign the petition and tell lawmakers that communities need this support.
It's time we help the people and communities that suffer from crimes with the resources to heal, prevent future victimization and create healthier communities.
To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing to express my support for a trauma center for crime victims in our community.
There is only one such center in the entire state of California, and we need to expand these services.
The center's free services (mental health counseling, help with law enforcement and victims compensation reimbursements, and more) could help families recover from crimes - the first step in avoiding additional trauma and victimization.

Crime is a serious problem in our community, and many community members would benefit from receiving these services. Please help us bring a trauma center for crime victims to our community.
Sincerely,
