In September 2020 the born alive protection act was signed. This bill states that infants born alive no matter what the circumstance, severe disabilities, or botched abortion, receive the same treatment as a healthy new born. Also this bill states that any medical professional that encourages a mother to abort due to fetus having severe disabilities, can be charged with a felony. I believe the medical professionals who previous to this bill, were encouraging parents to terminate and/or not giving babies born with severe disabilities the same care and leaving them to die in there mother's arms should face the same felony charges and their Medical license should be revoked. But that wont happen.

The bill passed in September 2020, NOW shields expectant mothers from the harsh treatment recieved when finding out their child has severe disabilities. Treatment such as, hearing " the best option would be to terminate or  a first time mother, who chose not to terminate. is told it will be a blessing if your baby dies during birth if you make it full term.'

What about the families that this happened to before September 2020.  All medical professional should be required to go through yearly sensitivity training.  They should also have to sit face to face with the women and their families who put their trust in them.  They (medical professionals) need to hear in detail the effect that their treatment had on them.  My daughter who was a first time mother actually thought this type of treatment was normal.  THAT IS NOT OK!!!

Please take a moment to sign Willows Act for them.
