Fight against Global Warming- fight for 100% Renewable energy production in Scotland within a generation.
In order to challenge the threat posed by global warming, we, the undersigned, state that Scotland should produce 100% of her energy by renewable means within a generation. Further we feel that the current proffit driven, free market stratergy for the Renewable Energy sector has lead to a over emphasis on solely onshore wind turbine developments.
To counter this, we propose the formation of a publicly owned `National Energy CorporationŽ based on environmental and social need, and with a holistic and educational outlook. As well as energy supply this corporation would drive forward research, development and construction of all renewable technologies, including Hydrogen, wave, solar, watermill, Offshore wind and biomass generators. This would move the emphasis away from on-shore wind turbine developments as well as benefitting communities, the economy and most importantly, the environment!
