Amending law on "permanent" ban for immigrants
According to the law instated after 9/11 immigrants who enter the US without permission and stay for over a year as well as immigrants who have been removed and re-enter before ten years is up are subject to permanent bans on their applications. They say that the immigrant can refile in ten years but in reality they are trying to force them to not re-apply ever.
I am requesting an ammendment of this law to extend waiver opportunities or legalization programs to immigrants who have filed through immediate US citizen family members. I believe that asking a US citizen to live without their family or change their lifestyle completely (i.e. move to another country where they may not receive the same benefits or ever be able to hold a decent job) is unconstitutional and unethical. I believe that amending this law will leave fewer single parents who demand help from state taxes, help our economy by filling more jobs and in turn having more people purchase items, ease the transition for other immigrants who may have otherwise entered illegally, as well as boost awareness in our community.
We the undersigned wish to amend the law on "permanent" bans for immigrants filing through their immediate US citizen families.
I am requesting this amendment to extend waiver opportunities or legalization programs.
This amendment will leave fewer single parents who rely on tax dollars, help our economy, and boost awareness in our community of the actual laws affecting the lives of "well-behaved" immigrants everywhere.
