Petition against empty petitions!
In spite of the fact that there is no limit to the number of petitions which can be created, and also in spite of the fact that calling into question another's petition is rather diametrically opposed to the spirit of freedom and democratic change which inspires one to write or sign a petition in the first place, we think that people who author quick, lazy, or empty petitions should be shunned, censored, and silenced!
Dear PetitionSite,
WHEREAS there is absolutely no limit to the number of petitions which can be created on your site, and
WHEREAS the silencing of other voices, no matter how off-key, is against the very spirit of equal participation which motivates us to sign and create petitions, and
WHEREAS we are completely lacking in any sense of either perspective or humor,
THEREFORE, be it resolved that we, the undersigned, would like to see a mechanism, possibly automatic but preferably user-driven, whereby petitions which a numerical majority of PetitionSite users find to be offensive, tasteless, or otherwise objectionable in any way, can be removed from the site, in order to "make room for" petitions which at least 50% of us approve of.
