You can't put a high school in an elementary school building.

The NYC Department of Education plans to house a high school in the same building as an elementary school.  The Tag Young Scholars school provides an excellent curriculum to my children and many others. There is another elementary school right across the street.  Information regarding the high school was kept from the parents and teachers of TAG until the decision was made.

If a high school is housed in the elementary school where grades K-8 attend safety will be compromised.  Elementary children will be exposed to and susceptible to gang violence and gang recruitment.  They will be exposed to more violence, drugs and sexual  behaviors shown by the high school students.

The parents of TAG have expressed our concerns for our children's safety to the Department of Education to no avail. Please help us.
