STOP 'GUARANI-KAIOWÁS' MASSACRE

  • by: Emanuel Lopes
  • recipient: Government and Presidency of the Federative Republic of Brazil

The Guarani-Kaiowás (indigenous people) are the most massacred people of Mato Grosso do Sul (Brazil) and they are suffering for over 30 years because of land demarcation. They are attacked every day, surrounded by gunmen and ranchers. There are several reports of rape and murder against this community of 50 men, 50 women and 70 children, who have received from the federal court a deportation order (eviction) of their territory issued in late September.

This petition is directed to the Brazilian Federal Government and Justice to end the persecution and violence against the Guarani-Kaiowás people, giving them the possibility to survive with dignity and security in their old territory.
