Bears are taken from their natural habitat and put in a cage the smaller than even a telephone box on it's side in order to extract the bear's bile for medicine. This is unnecessary, as there are herbal alternatives.


Bear baiting:

Bears are tied to a post, and trained fighting dogs are set on it. The bear's teeth and claws are removed, which alone is an agonizing proccess. The bear is defenceless, but has to repeat the attack many more times for different audience's entertainment.

Illegally poached cubs get pierced through their nose, and a ring is inserted through their nose, and the rope is fed through the ring. This keeps the bear obedient, as resisting the rope's force is painful, and they are forced to dance all day in the blazing sun with not enough water or food.

The bears are kept in concrete enclosures and are made to beg for food for public entertainment. The crowd feeds the bears, which makes their diet unbalanced and the bears fight over the food. This can cause infected wounds that are left untreated.
