Strong evidence arrived in 2004, when a large investigation documented that short-term exposure to ozone can shorten lives. They looked at 95 cities across the United States over a 14-year period, and even on days when ozone levels were below the current national standard, the researchers found that the risk of premature death increased with higher levels of ozone. They estimated that over 3,700 deaths annually could be attributed to increased short term exposure to ozone.

Shocking, I know, and what can we do about it you ask? Plenty.
If every resident of Tantra Lake signs a petition to force Waterton Residential to go green here at Tantra, and institute a no carbon xeriscaping policy, we can do our part to:
1) Help reduce national carbon emissions by 1/20th or 5%
2) Help conserve the 800 million gallons of gas used to mow lawns.
3) Help prevent the equivalent of one Exxon Valdez tragedy every single year.
4) Help save the lives of the 3,700 people that will die prematurely, every single year in the US, if we do nothing at all.
2,974 people died on that fateful day in September 2001.
What would you have done during August 2001, had you known that you could play an integral role in saving their lives?
Approximately 25,000 people have died since that September day, in cities like Boulder, and neighborhoods like Tantra, all across the United States, due to voluntary %u201Cshort-term exposure to increased ozone.%u201D
The choice is simple, the time is now, we you help us save the world?
I am simply asking every adult in each Tantra Home to sign this petition.
