Bring Recycling to Trine University!

The purpose of this petition is to help promote environmental awareness and keep excess waste from landfills.
Recycling one ton of plastic saves 7.4 cubic yards of landfill space.
In recent years, the number of U.S. plastics recycling business has nearly tripled. More than 1,600 businesses are involved in recycling post-consumer plastics.
S.P.E.A.K and Trine University are now hoping to pair together and contribute to the health of the envioronment in starting a recycling program for University students.
This program is at no extra cost to the University, but will pay huge dividend in the landfills of our community.
We the undersigned believe that having a recycling program at Trine University would be an effective measure to help keep the landfills of the community free of excess debris. This program would help promote environmental awareness. This program would have a positive impact on the trash pick up and keep the area around campus stay cleaner. Ultimately it will be less trash for the school to pickup and less cost for the students.
