Canada is a democracy?

As a democracy, we elect our representatives in government.  Our head of government is also elected.  Our head of state is self-appointed, and will remain in power for the life of the "family".  Canadian citizens have no power to remove her and to have a local Canadian "elected" to this position.
Until 1867 we were a British/French/Aboriginal colony.  Today, under our British constitution, we are simply "little-britain".
It's time to become a "totally" democratic country and to "elect" our new Canadian head of state!
