In the recent event of the death of Michael Jackson I have been watching the news a little more to get information on the memorial service and I am disgusted at the insensitivity of the media for the Jackson Family. Years ago when the OJ trial was hot topic the media was cruel and uncaring. I swallowed the callousness and the unending undertones and insinuations that OJ was undeniably guilty and watched the trial for myself because I didn't trust the media. I arrived at the same conclusion the jury did. NOT Guilty. The media reports were not impartial they were convinced that he was guilty. I even witnessed a popular news station selling tapes of the trial. When he was found not guilty the media was crushed and the tapes were no longer for sale. Why is that!
I also witnessed the constant stalking of Princess Diana by the paparrazi
I believe and I will always believe that they were the cause of her death. No matter what the media reported the driver was not drunk.
The media stalks the celebrity and makes the excuse that the public has the right to know or that we want the stories...That is not true.
These celebrities are famous yes but they donot deserve to be treated like this in the media. This week I witness a outspoken host of a HLN show call Michael Jackson's mother "an old granny" I was livid and tried to call in to express my outrage. Grandmothers no matter how old have always taken care of their grandchildren for centuries.
If you watched the memorial service you witnessed the love and closeness that the children had for their grandmother and the love the
Jacksons had for Michael's children. I felt relief witnessing this with my own eyes and not hearing an opposite and more cynical story in the media. Now media is putting their own twist on what happened and creating a media attack on Katherine Jackson and her family. I AM FED UP AND I WANT TO SEE COMPASSION, I WANT TO SEE HUMANITY. I DONOT WANT TO SEE THE GOSSIPY CYNICAL HEARSAY AND PERSONAL OPINIONS OF HARDENED CYNICS. We must move away from this type of reporting before it destroys another life.
If I wanted to hear that I would have stayed in high school.
Our media must reflect compassion and humanity like mature decent people that we all strive to be at home and in our community.
