Senate Republicans Need to Back the 'Keep Families Together Act'

Right now, thousands of families crossing the southern U.S. border without documentation are not only being detained but separated from each other – children are being ripped away from their mothers for no reason other than to serve as some sort of cruel "deterrent."

President Trump insists that this policy can only be changed by lawmakers on the Hill. Even though this is false – this policy is wholly Trump's doing – Senate Democrats are acting on his advice.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein recently introduced the "Keep Families Together Act." If passed, it would put an end to family separation except in situations of child abuse or human trafficking. Right now, every Democrat in the Senate has endorsed the bill — however absolutely zero Republicans have done the same.

Every day that passes without this bill being passed is another day that parents and children are being torn apart. If Republicans truly disapprove of this policy, as many have said, then they have absolutely no reason to not endorse "Keep Families Together Act."

Tell Republicans on the Hill that America is not a land that punishes families or uses children as political pawns. Tell them that they have a duty to end this cruel and dehumanizing process immediately by adding your name to this petition!

Update #15 years ago
President Trump has said he plans to sign an executive order to end family separations currently taking place at the southern border. But we still need the Keep Families Together Act to ensure this never happens again. Please share this petition to keep the pressure on.
