Petition for the abolishment of the F.C.C.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent United States government agency. The FCC was established by the Communications Act of 1934 and is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable. The FCC's jurisdiction covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions.
The Federal Communications Commission has outserved its stated purpose.
They have lost their identity as an independant agency and are now at the mercy of political lobbying groups as well as any and all branches of government.
Anyone familiar with the merger of Sirius and xm satellite radio can attest that the FCC is no longer capable of protecting consumers in an unbiased manner. Having lost their ability to function properly, we are calling for the end of government waste and the abolishment of the FCC.
