Relocate Confederate Monument to Wrather Museum

The Confederate Monument on the square in Murray Ky honoring the 800 citizens of the county who fought on the side of the confederacy during the American Civil War, is the only confederate statue in the entire state of KY to feature Robert E Lee. As of late, the city of Murray has been very dedicated to efforts that work to make many of our citizens feel comfortable around town, by cracking down on the use of tobacco. We believe that this is a positive direction for the city to move towards, that being said, much more if not at least the same extension of courtesy should be given to the African American community here in Murray. That meaning a man who lead the confederacy, in an effort to protect the southern states then right to own African American slaves, should not be displayed proudly outside of the counties court house, where not only is Judicial court held, but the location containing  the administrative offices of the entire county! This is not to say we should destroy the monument or the history it represents, but rather discuss relocating it, to perhaps the Wrather Museum on campus where it can be appreciated for its historical value, and dually extend common courtesy to all the people in Calloway county.
