NO PLASTIC BAGS PLEASE
We, the Undersigned, understand the following:
Plastic bags are created through a toxic industrial process that pollutes the air, the earth, and the water.
Furthermore, hundreds of billions of plastic bags are thrown out each day in the United States to the effect of prematurely using up our cities' landfills, to clog our rivers and streams, to break down into toxic chemicals that poison the earth, and most tragically, to cause the strangulation death of many wild animals hoping to scavenge food from our landfills.
We pledge to reject and renounce plastic bags. We will no longer accept them nor use them. Instead, we will make our own reusable totes from old clothing or other materials around our homes. Or, we will purchase said totes. Many stores carry totes and sell them at quite affordable prices.
We also pledge to encourage our friends and other members of our communities to reject plastic bags and to use totes instead.
Finally, we will insist that stores in our communities cease and desist from using plastic bags and/or encouraging the public to use said plastic bags.
