Description of FiOS:
FiOS which stands for "Fiber Optic Service", is an Internet, telephone, and TV service. These services are offered seperatly though. The service is currently not available in Moorestown, but is offered in Surrounding towns such as: Maple Shade, Mt. Laurel, Marlton, Haddonfield, Cherry Hill and Medford. The main advantage if FiOS over Comcast's TV, and Internet is the increased speed of the internet and increased Quality of HD televison. Comcast compresses their HDTV signals, so they can fit more channels, FiOS has more capacity to begin with, and therefore do not need to Compress their HDTV signals, resulting in Higher quality. Verizon FiOS is also Future proof, it has Theoretical download speeds of up to 2.4 gigabytes per second(Yes, I mean gigabytes, more than 800 times faster than Verizon DSL). That's like downloading 2 movies from iTunes in 1 second, Comcast's non optical system has a theoretical speed limit of only 325 megabytes per second, more than 7x slower than FiOS's theoretical speed. FiOS is also much cheaper, you can get the equivalent of the "Comcast Triple Play Preferred Plus with Speed Tier" for $35 dollars a month cheaper, with faster Intenet, more channels, more on demand content, and better call quality.

Because the cables (advanced Fiber optic lines, all the way to you house) are not already installed, the installation of FiOS in Moorestown would require stringing lines in telephone poles, or digging them underground. To have it installed they will have to put a small fiber optic line to you house which requires the digging of a small and shallow trench in your yard.
