Levy Co. Deputy tazes own dog, gets a reprimand

Deputy Chuck Johnson, who has had 9 disiplinary actions since 2006, has been brought up on charges of tazing his family dog. Johnson says "this isn't something I do all the time, just once or twice."  Deputy Johnson was initially given three days off, but Sheriff Smith thought that it was too severe, he has brought the punishment down to a reprimand. Some say it is because Chuck Johnson is the son of 2nd in Command, Col. Mike Johnson.
We the petioners request that Deputy Johnson be given a more severe punishment, as the 2nd review board suggested, for the inhumane treatment and cruelty to his family dog.  Check out the local news story at this link:

We, the undersigned, believe that a more harsh punishment should be handed down to Chuck Johnson for the tazing of his family dog. Additionally, he should be added to the Animal Abuse registry and be not allowed access to the family dog unsupervised.  We must stop animal cruelty and punish those guilty of it.
