A huge populace of Richland County are dog owners, most of which don't have a fenced in area for their dogs to roam and play. This petition is to get a dog park created in the area to socialize our furry friends and allow dog owners to get to know one another.
We, the undersigned, request that a dog park be added to the recreation opportunities in Richland County. We believe that a dog park would be greatly beneficial to the area.
As most would agree Richland County Ohio has a wonderful amount of park and recreation space available for our communities use. Unfortunately one major group is being left out, dog owners. More households have a dog than a child. So why don't we have a park where dog parents can take their furry children to play and socialize?
Dog parks provide a safe secure area for owners to allow their pets to roam and play together. They allow social interaction between dogs, making them more friendly and amicable towards neighboring animals at their own homes, and for their owners, to talk and get together with people that love the same thing as them, their dogs! They even promote responsible pet ownership, requiring all dogs that use the park to be properly vaccinated and licensed. For those that are elderly or disabled it also helps them get their dogs the proper exercise they require. Another surprising discovery cities with dog parks are seeing is that even those that don't own dogs are making use of the parks, getting their "doggy fix" when circumstances don't allow them to own pet.
The undersigned would like to see a dog park in Richland County. Ideally, an acre or two fenced in that is an off leash area for dogs and people to socialize. An area we could set up an agility run for people to enjoy and possibly a pond or swimming area for the dogs and kids.
We plan to do fundraisers and ask for donations towards the cause so we can build a safe fun area for our community to enjoy.
