Urge Brevard County, Florida Commissioners to Fund EEL Program Budget

As a result of planned funding cuts by the Brevard County, Florida Commissioners, the Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) program will eliminate most educational programs for school children and reduce the days each week that the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary and the Barrier Island Center are open.

We are concerned citizens who support: the environmental education programs offered by the Environmentally Endangered Lands program, keeping the centers open at least six days each week, and continued maintenance of the 38 miles of trails for public use and associated habitat management.

Education programs include: center walk-ins, school groups/field trips, sponsored festivals, community programs, tours, room use, turtle walks, and summer camp.

We urge our Brevard County, Florida Commissioners to act now to fully fund the EEL program budget for those purposes.

The EEL Program is a cornerstone in improving EDUCATION, growing TOURISM, and improving our QUALITY of LIFE in Brevard County, Florida.
