Stop the Italian mission in Niger!

On January 17th, the Italian Parliament approved a military mission in Niger in order to stop terrorists on the way to Libya and towards European shores.

Italy will join France and US forces in helping the Nigerien government in their plan of fighting migration into the country.

Unfortunately, the plan of the Nigerien government is not as brilliant as it could be: immigrants used to pass through well-known, controlled and safe ways like through the city of Agadez, in the middle of a caravan route but since 2016 the government has blocked these routes, putting at risk migrants lives (asylum seekers included) who are now traveling through unknown areas with the risk of being prey to terrorists and arms dealers.

In fact, Italy, the EU and other western countries keep expanding borders in Africa, shifting the responsibility of human rights onto countries where human rights have never been respected.

Don't you think there are other ways to fight terrorists? Why is Italy sending troops to Niger?

Ask the Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, to explain the real reason for this mission. Sign now and tell us in the comments why you would like him to stop this mission.
