STOP Solis Apartments at Chestnut/Weddington Matthews Development Agreement

A Solis apartment complex with approximately 300 units in six buildings with 4 additional duplex buildings behind are being proposed at Weddington Matthews Rd and Chestnut Lane in Matthews NC in Union County. It would be within 1.5 miles of 3 elementary schools that already cause gridlock in the area during rush hour in the morning and afternoon. The proposal for a roundabout is not enough for this many new residents plus another neighborhood (Weddington Acres) going up in the same radius. Not to mention Antioch elementary CANNOT hold this many new students when they are already utilizing the PTO to fund key roles/supplies for the school that Union County can't provide. The solution is to put a stop to this building now, fix the roads and school infrastructure first before thinking about any more building!!!
