Protect California's Ancient Redwoods!

It is still legal to log old-growth redwoods in California. I proposed to make it illegal to log old growth redwood trees on all property, both private and public. Only about 5% of the old growth redwoods remain due to extensive logging in the 1800s through the 1900s.

We can not continue to allow these massive 200+ year old trees to be logged!

These ancient trees also provide habitat for numerous species including the endangered spotted owl and marbled murrelet. In addition, they help fight climate change. Coastal redwood forests store more carbon dioxide than any other forest in the world! I have witnessed firsthand these incredible giant trees some over 2,000 years old, and it is really sad that these majestic trees are still being logged.

Please join me and sign the petition to California Governor Jerry Brown, to ban logging of old growth redwood trees. Help preserve a natural treasure!
