Please elect Skeeter Davis into the Country Music Hall Of Fame!
Hello, I'd like to ask that the late Skeeter Davis to be entered into the Country Music Hall Of Fame. Skeeter was a co-member of the duo, The Davis Sisters. along with Betty Jack Davis, from 1947-1953, until a tragic car accident took Betty Jack's life. Thereafter Skeeter went on to record many top 40 country/pop hits including Set Him Free, Am I That Easy To Forget?, I Can't Help You (I'm Falling Too), Lost To A Geisha Girl and her biggest The End Of The World from 1963. Skeeter later became somewhat an embassador of country music, touring in Japan, Kenya, Barbabados, England and many other countries. Skeeter was one of the first ladies to have her singles chart both country and pop. I feel Skeeter was just as influencial as current hall of famers as Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Barbara Mandrell. Skeeter accomplished many of the things these ladies did, but did it first. I would have loved to see Skeeter get this honor before her passing in 2004, but it is never too late.
