Tell Michigan Legislators to Reject Anti-LGBT Bills

In the wake of a recent bill that blocks employer health care coverage for domestic partners of state employees, the Michigan legislature is set to consider three more anti-LGBT bills in the current legislative session.

If passed, one bill would prevent local governments from providing nondiscrimination protections to LGBT people. Another would allow university counseling providers to refuse treatment to LGBT people based on religious beliefs. The third would prohibit public funding from being used for medically necessary surgery for transgender people.

All three bills push for discriminatory laws at a time when Michigan desperately needs to focus on the state's economy and job creation.

Sign now to tell Michigan legislators to reject the anti-LGBT bills and to focus on economic recovery, rather than proposing more discriminatory legislation.
We the undersigned call on you to reject the three anti-LGBT bills under consideration in the current legislative session. If passed, one bill would prevent local governments from providing nondiscrimination protections to LGBT people; another would allow university counseling providers to refuse treatment to LGBT people based on religious beliefs. The third bill aims to prohibit public funding from being used for medically necessary surgery for transgender people. We urge you to reject all three bills, which push for discriminatory laws at a time when Michigan desperately needs to focus on the state's economy and job creation.
