Sexual Assault is a Nationwide Problem - Tell Your Legislators to Take it Seriously

Sexual assault in all its grotesque forms is a huge problem in the US. In fact, every 98 seconds another American will be sexually assaulted.

Thanks to movements like #MeToo and all of the ways we as a society are trying to hold high profile predators accountable, we are in a unique moment where folks are finally listening to victims/survivors. But all this attention is also exposing the truth: our laws, legal systems, institutions and societal beliefs have allowed for this kind of violence for too long. Not to mention that women, people of color, people living in poverty and the LGBTQ community are disproportionately affected and these are the groups with the least amount of power.

So if you care and you want to do everything you can to change the status quo:

Please sign on to show your support in the effort to end sexual assault and tell your legislator they must pass meaningful legislation towards this effort.

There are so many ways to approach this problem and all of them are important. We must hold predators in power accountable for abuse, force our legislators to pass legislation that protects victims and makes it easier to prosecute abusers and change societal understanding of the problem.

It may seem obvious to you that sexual assault is wrong, but if this moment exposes anything about our society it's that we are not on the same page about it.

So let's start today by committing to telling people around us how we feel and why it matters.

Sign the petition and leave a comment about why you care and Care2 will send it to your legislative representatives.

Share the petition on social media and explain why you want to fight against sexual assault.
