Tell FDA to Take Action on BPA

Bisphenol-A, more commonly known as BPA, is a toxic chemical found in everything from baby bottles to paper receipts. Recent studies show that BPA can interfere with the body's hormone system, potentially leading to a variety of health problems, including damage to the reproductive system and brain, especially in children.

Eleven states have banned the chemical's use in children's products, and Canada, China, and the European Union have adopted similar restrictions. However U.S. federal regulatory agencies have done little to protect the public.

Act now to tell the Food and Drug Administration to ban BPA in all products that come into contact with food and to set up labeling standards to ensure that products marked "BPA-free" don't simply substitute similar chemicals that pose similar risks.

We the undersigned urge you to ban the use of Bisphenol-A (BPA) in all products that come into contact with food.

Recent studies show that BPA can interfere with the body's hormone system, potentially leading to a variety of health problems, including damage to the reproductive system and brain, especially in children.

Eleven states have already banned the chemical's use in children's products. We call on you to protect the public by federally regulating the use of BPA and by establishing labeling standards to ensure that products marked "BPA-free" do not simply substitute similar chemicals that pose similar risks.

We thank you for your attention to this important matter.
