Things change over time and today the religious business is profitable!
And why should the business that is religion not have to pay taxes?
They sell books, music, and a multitude of things, collect money, fund all sorts of money making events, build entertainment centers, charge tuition for their schools, have employees, pay wages, and they do profit financially!
And those that don't wouldn't have to pay taxes in any case.
Used to be religious organizations provided support for the needy, the elderly, jobless, sick,,, and still do somewhat, yet today the government provides more of that support?
And once again, if they don't profit then they wouldn't have to pay taxes anyway!
Time to get rid of the 501c3 not-for-profit tax exempt nonsense!
If their bottom line is not 0 or in the red, they should be taxed.
Yet those who giive to such organizations could yet declare a deduction on their tax returns.
