NOLA: Permanently Install LGBTQ Pride Crosswalks on Bourbon Street

The French Quarter has long been the most LGBTQ-welcoming neighborhood in New Orleans, in Louisiana and across the entire region. We've just wrapped up another successful Pride celebration, putting that fact on display once again.

As Bourbon Street is repaved, please commit to celebrating that wonderful history and legacy by installing permanent rainbow crosswalks in the intersections at Saint Ann and Dumaine.

This area is the epicenter of Pride, with the gay dance club Oz located at one side, and Cafe Lafitte in Exile (the city's oldest gay bar) at the other.

As former Mayor Landrieu once said: Symbols matter. It is well-past time that NOLA's role as a city which welcomes the LGBTQ community was marked and celebrated by this simple official installation.

Two other cities have taken a similar step, Atlanta and DC, due to similar Care2 petitions - sign and share this petition to help spread love across the country!
