Two Guys Sexually Assaulted Me at a College Party; Help Me Fight Back

Fighting, despite the slim odds of success, is my life story.

I fought, despite the odds, and funded my own college education at 16-years-old by selling my car, television, and even my bed to be the first in my family to obtain a Bachelor's degree.

I fought, despite the odds, for equality for the LGBT community at my former college by reporting on their illegal policies.

I fought, despite the odds, to gain peace after the two people who assaulted me at a Greek life party — blamed me for the incident.

And now I need your help to fight, despite the odds, to change the odds for sexual assault survivors like me.

UC San Diego's current crime document contains multiple loopholes. These loopholes allow fraternities and sororities to the number of assaults that are perpetrated on their watch a secret.

Therefore, UCSD's Greek life needs an incentive to start producing their own sexual assault tracking report.

One way we can encourage them is by asking UC San Diego's student government to only fund student organizations that compile and publicly release sexual assault statistics.

This is the way I see it: if student clubs such as Greek life want to play by their own rules, they should play with their own money.

Fighting for change, despite the odds, is part of who I am. But change won't happen until all of us fight no matter how discouraging things may seem.

If you want more ways to help me fight back, follow me on twitter at @justjaketv to join me in getting engaged.

Let's send a strong message that no one is above the law.
