End The Massacre Of Thousands Of Defenseless Seals!

Tens of thousands of helpless seals are slaughtered for profit every year, and many of them go to waste!

Add your name if you want to ban this brutal practice, NOW!

Can we call it hunting, if a man can walk right up to a seal that's looking him straight in the face before he blows it away?

"Exact numbers are difficult to come by for the all-year Arctic hunt, but the Nunavut territorial government estimates that its hunters take 35,000 seals per year. In 2016, the Atlantic hunt took about 70,000 harp and grey seals, and as recently as 2006 that number has been as high as 355,000," according to The National Post.

If they don't have exact numbers, how can they be sure they are depleting seal numbers?

And the worst part is, LOTS of them go to waste.

"One 2000 study from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans found that between two and 10% of young seals were killed without being collected.

"The rates were markedly higher when it came to older seals that were shot in open water.

"Among seals one year or older, up to 50% sunk after being hit," reported the same source.

Let that number hit home...

Up to 50% of seals a year old or more got to waste.

And the waste doesn't stop there.

Countless thousands of pounds of seal meat are thrown into the ocean, or left to rot on the ice and snow.

Why?

"There's simply no market to absorb the meat from 70,000 seals per year," in the words of the National Post.

Isn't it clear that this cruel industry needs to come to an end?

Don't you want to stop this wasteful slaughter of defenseless animals?

Then add your name to ask Bernadette Jordan; Canadian Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard; to take action within her government to ban this heartless hunt once and for all!
