The GOP Wants to Ban Trans Healthcare. We Won't Let Them.

Over 650 pieces of anti-trans/LGTBQ legislation have been introduced in 2023 alone, and if the GOP has its way, the wave of homophobic and transphobic policies will continue. But states like New Jersey are stepping up. Governor Phil Murphy recently passed an executive order making the state a "safe haven" for trans healthcare. This means that regardless of "sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression," or even NJ residency, people seeking quality healthcare there are protected.

This is an amazing victory -- and it is time all other states follow suit!

Sign now to demand all states become safe havens for trans healthcare!

It's easy to become overwhelmed and helpless by the shocking recent wave of attacks against LGBTQ+ folks. The pure hostility being thrown at a community whose members are simply asking for the freedom to be who they are is gut wrenching. The GOP is perpetuating inflammatory, untrue, and hateful rhetoric for political gain and risking countless lives in the process, especially the non-binary and trans youth!

But every state has the capacity to proactively respond to this onslaught of hateful legislation by becoming safe havens for LGBTQ+ healthcare, and more specifically, gender-affirming care.

California was the first state to officially declare itself as a safe haven for all people, regardless of gender identity or sexuality. Since then, other states have followed suit. There is a precedent for care and compassion that can actively combat the cruel laws many states have been able to pass. But to keep up with the rampant, fascistic policies of the GOP, many more states need to step up.

We must protect and stand with our trans community members. That means creating safe havens across the country. Sign the petition now to tell all remaining states, including your own: become safe havens for trans healthcare!
