No Sludge Disposal in Henry County!

Henry County Residents,
There will be another Board of Adjustments meeting on Monday, April 29th at 7pm. The meeting will take place at the HC Fairgrounds in the 4H Building. The board will be voting on the conditional use permit for the disposal of industrial sludge. The “sludge” would be transported from a food processing plant in Oldham County and be disposed of in HC. The proposed site for this sludge disposal is a tract of land that lies next to and behind Henry Christian Church and then wraps around and gets within 600ft of the baseball field at HCHS. This agreement will provide no benefits for Henry County or its citizens. The board discussed this proposal at Monday night’s meeting. The majority of those in attendance spoke out against the proposal. However, the board elected to table the vote until next week. If this proposal is concerning to you, please sign this petition and share it with others! You can also contact members on the Board of Adjustments and come share your concerns at next Monday’s meeting. Stop and think about this for a minute. A company is going to pay to send this “sludge” to our county for disposal because the citizens of OC don’t want it in their back yards or on their farms. Why should the citizens of HC support this agreement?!
