Lifetime Medicare for all transplant recipients

  • recipient: Alex Azar, Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services; Donald J. Trump
Many individuals lose Medicare three years after transplant surgery. Some are able to go back to work and recieve employer-provided health insurance, but many are not.

Transplants and medication effect each of us differently. Anti-rejection drugs are outrageously expensive and many cannot afford them once they lose Medicare, which can lead to disasterous health outcomes such as a return to dialysis or even death.

Medicare should provide lifetime insurance for those who have had a transplant. Support better health care for those who have had transplants, urge Trump's Health Secretary to act today!
