Varying from the principles outlined in the town's Comprehensive Plan, Town leaders are 'SHOEHORNING' a 130' wide road into a 100' right-of-way to keep Collin County happy rather than upholding the principles outlined and voted on by the citizens of Prosper.
Sign this petition to show your support to build Coit from First Street north as a 4 lane divided road similar to Prosper Trail and First Street.
NO ROOM: Town standards call for 130' ROW for a 6-lane thoroughfare, but there is ONLY 100'-110' available due to Town approved set-backs in the sub-divisions of Highland Meadows and Gentle Creek.
NOT SAFE: 6-Lane road will put 45-60 mph cars within FEET of a resident's personal driveway and will reduce median and parkways leaving sidewalks virtually against the curb resulting in a HUGE safety issue for Prosper children; elimination of right-turn deceleration lanes will create accidents
NOT NEEDED: County and Town's own data show 6 lanes will NEVER be needed at County's full build-out; 4-lanes will move traffic effectively through low density RESIDENTIAL neighborhoods
DECREASES PROPERTY VALUE: Estimates show up to $90M of property value will be negatively affected, affecting not only Prosper property owners, but also the tax collections by the town.
INCREASES NOISE: Town's "Open feel" vision promoted in the Comprehensive Plan is ignored and homeover's along Coit will have no walls to protect its tax-paying citizens from the noise created from the roadway. (variance from Frisco & Plano)
REMOVES TREES: Once ROW is established for 6 lanes, utility companies need to install underground and overhead utilities which will likely remove 20 yr old trees from our newly awarded 'Tree City USA'
Apparently the town believes EVERYONE DOES NOT MATTER in this scenario...

The Next meeting on the future of Coit road will be the town P&Z meeting on Tuesday (10-02-18), starting at 6:00pm, at the new town hall. We recommend arriving a few minutes early. If you wish to speak you will need to fill out a form before the meeting starts.
At this time, we don’t know what the town will present to P&Z, but hope to get more information and be able to update everyone afterward.
Please plan on attending and show up in force until the process has been completed.

Good Tuesday morning... I want thank everyone who took the time and effort to read through this petition and share their support for this cause.
If you are available, please attend a town hall meeting in two days at the new building at 200 S. Mail St. at 6:00p. This will be an opportunity for anyone to address this issue with the town mgrs. Even if you are not comfortable talking, please show your support with your presence.
