We ask the Canadian Embassy in Rome to stop the unfair Demands against Eritrean Refugees in Sudan

Subject: A call for an immediate change to the unfair demands against Eritrean Refugees in Sudan by the Canadian Embassy in Rome.
The Canadian Embassy in Rome is lately asking Eritean Refugees in Sudan who had submitted their sponsorship application for months and for some for years to submit the UNHCR ProGress Case number in order to proceed with their applications. The Case ProGress number is a plain white paper issued to them at the camp as a proof of their registration while waiting for the actual Refugee status Document; which most of them didn't know its importance when they received their status papers and didn't keep it. Therefore the new developments by the Canadian Embassy in Rome looks like targeting the Refugees while Ottawa is dealing with backlog it created by opening its borders to accept Refugees of Convenience who crossed from the US at a promise of the Liberal Government, breaking the US-Canada Safe third Country agreement. We want to remind Ottawa the real Refugees should not be an escape got to cover the failures of the Liberal government to manage its own backlog with the matter of asylum seekers.
We concerned Eritreans therefore, call upon Ottawa this irresponsible, irrational and in-humanitarian practice by Rome to immediately stop and allow the Refugees to proceed with processing their applications. We consider ourselves as Canadians and we strongly believe our voices matter and if it does we ask Ottawa to respect Eritrean Refugees in Sudan and allow us to bring our brothers and sisters suffering the current crisis in Sudan.
We find the practice a complete ignorance and heartlessness especially to come at this time when the world is looking at Sudan’s crisis and seeking a solution to it. It has to be recalled our citizens had suffered and continue to suffer in Libya, our citizen's organs have been taken alive at the Sinai desert leaving the body's dead and now Sudan is becoming another Libya. Therefore, we call upon Ottawa to respect our demands and give it a due consideration before it becomes uncontrollable crisis and leave a black mark in Canadian History and in particular in the History of the Liberal government.
    Thank you.
    Concerned Eritreans.
