Stop Carehome and Day Centres closing by supporting a FairCare Cooperative

The Conservative Party, who control Devon County Council have decided to close council owned Carehomes and Daycentres for the elderly and disabled.  They want provision to come from private companies that have no interest in our area, or in providing decent care for those that need it.  Instead we want Devon County Council to allow these homes and centres earmarked for closure to be transfered into a FairCare Cooperative giving workers, care recipents and concerned members of the public control over the care provision.

The Cooperative Party is working hard to make sure we secure better paid care jobs by allowing careworkers to own and manage care facilities.  We also believe in giving those that need care clear input by giving them the right to join the cooperative and be part of the decision making process.  This is a great solution to the problems of poor care and badly paid work, and only the Cooperative Party is working to provide this solution for everyone in Devon.
