Hinge: Pull Your Creepy New App From the App Store. Respect Privacy!

Hinge, a dating app, has created a new app called Matchmaker. The standalone app allows you, a non-Hinge user, to see all your Facebook friends who are currently on Hinge, and suggest two of them who you think would be a good couple.

Creepy, much? Most people probably don't want their Facebook friends to know if they are on dating sites, as that's generally a deeply personal aspect of our lives. Our dating lives are usually kept private from school and work and sometimes even our family! Even if we choose to make our dating lives public, that's just it: it should be a choice, not something you have to opt out of.

Please sign this petition to ask Hinge to remove this Matchmaker app from the app store.

Until now, you wouldn’t see who was on Hinge unless you were also on there to date. Now, you can see who is on Hinge without participating in Hinge yourself! There's nothing wrong with being on a dating app obviously -- most of us do it! -- but it's also not something you may want blasted out to your Facebook friends without your knowledge or consent.

Please sign this petition to ask Hinge to remove this Matchmaker app from the app store.
