CPZ Tottenham

Whoever lives in Tottenham knows the frustration of parking in the evening
i have contacted the Council asking for a Cpz and see below their Reply

Thank you for your e-mail and I am sorry to read of the evening parking difficulties you are experiencing. We are aware there is considerable growth in parking congestion in general caused by delivery vans.

Demand for parking controls is most prevalent in roads west of the A10. We have not received any significant number of requests for CPZ controls from residents in Gladesmore and surrounding local roads east of the A10. However, if residents feel parking controls are now required, we would ask that they arrange a petition of support to be included within a CPZ. This petition should be submitted via a local councillor, so that councillors are aware (and supportive). The petition will then be considered by the Cabinet Member for Environment, with a view to scheduling a public consultation so that we can assess demand for controls across the wider area from Crowland Road south to the borough border.

I appreciate that this may seem like a laborious task but as I am sure you are aware, parking is often a contentious issue and so we must have evidence of local support for a CPZ in the local roads before we can consider running a consultation. If we consult on controls before there is a clear indication of demand; residents may feel they are being pressurised and can often develop strong opposition to parking controls.
