Each time the African-American Community has seemed to become momentarily empowered or even acknowledged for our accomplishments, the White community retaliates with prejudice, ignorance, and bigotry in an attempt to remind us just how they will always view us as a people in this country. In the grand scheme of things, with the abundance of challenges that African-American are faced with everyday this is in no way priority number one on anybody's radar. This is however one of the only challenges that can be fought with only a voice alone and that is why I am choosing to use mine! It is time to take a stand against this group of intolerant despots and let them know there is no place for racism in this "Land of the Free". We are in no way finished with the everlasting battle that African-American people are faced with each day, but it is time to take a stand and start even if it is just one step at a time.
