Title: Urgent Appeal to Protect Our Brave Allies: LEPs Facing Grave Threats in Afghanistan

Dear Supporters,

We come together as a united group of former Locally Engaged Personnel (LEPs) and dedicated bureaucrats who have served under the Canadian Mission in Afghanistan. Today, we bring to your attention a dire and heart-wrenching situation faced by our brave allies and their families who are still in Afghanistan.

As you may know, the current government in Afghanistan poses serious threats to those who assisted the Canadian Mission between 2005 and 2012. These courageous individuals risked their lives every day, working alongside our Canadian forces, providing crucial interpretation and support services that were instrumental in the success of our mission. Tragically, many of them now find themselves in grave danger due to their affiliation with Canada.

Despite meeting all the eligibility criteria for immigration programs, many of our LEPs and their families have been left behind, living in constant fear for their lives and safety. It deeply pains us to witness that while thousands of individuals who have never worked with the Canadian Mission were granted immigration, our loyal and brave allies have been left in harm's way.

As a group that has successfully immigrated to Canada, we stand in solidarity with our fellow LEPs who are still in Afghanistan. We have personally witnessed the invaluable contributions of these individuals, and we unequivocally validate their work experience and dedication to our shared mission.

We, as Canadians and as a compassionate society, have always upheld the values of justice, fairness, and gratitude. It is now our responsibility to ensure that the same principles are extended to our allies who face unimaginable dangers and persecution in Afghanistan.

Therefore, we urgently appeal to the Canadian Minister of Immigration, the Minister of Defense, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take immediate action. We implore them to prioritize the cases of our deserving LEPs and their families and grant them the protection they desperately need. The imminent closure of the immigration programs makes it all the more crucial to expedite their cases and offer them the sanctuary they rightfully deserve.

By supporting this petition, you send a clear and powerful message to our government that we will not stand idly by while our allies are abandoned in their time of need. Your signature becomes a voice of hope for those facing imminent danger, urging the authorities to act swiftly and responsibly.
