No baby should grow up without a mother

Every two minutes, a woman dies from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. 99% of these women live in developing countries where there is a lack of access to basic health care. The nearest hospital might be a whole day's travel away – and by that point, for a woman who is having problems giving birth, it could be too late.

Every mother should get the chance to hold her baby for the first time.

Most of these deaths can be prevented if women have access to simple but incredibly effective antenatal support – such as trained midwives and birth attendants and well-equipped health clinics within travelling distance.

Together we can help make sure new mums get to hold their baby for the very first time, no matter where they live.

Join us in the fight to save the lives of pregnant women and their babies in the world's poorest countries.
