Don't abolish the threatened species list!

We have laws to protect our living world, however, our laws are too weak. Companies are being allowed to wantonly bulldoze our forests, dig mines and pollute our air and water.

The result – habitat is disappearing and the web of life is fracturing causing plants and animals to vanish like never before. In fact, over the last 200 years, more than 100 of Australia's animal and plant species have become extinct.

Now, to make matters worse, hardline lobbyists are even pushing to abolish the threatened species list, which is a vital tool for saving these irreplaceable animals and their habitats. We cannot allow lobbyists to sweep extinction under the carpet and make it even easier to destroy the planet we all call home.

Our elected representatives must not only preserve the threatened species list. Faced with these historic threats, our leaders must take a strong next step and create a new framework of national laws to safeguard our air, water and all living things.

We must speak out now before it's too late. Tell Prime Minister Turnbull and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten to create stronger environment laws.
