Trail Bicycling in the Adams Preserve

The current plans for the Adams Preserve calls for restricting trail bicycling to the sewer easement, which would involve traversing flood-prone areas, railroad tracks, and along a busy roadway. This poses significant obstacles to constructing a sustainable trail and its safe use. The Triangle Off-Road Cyclists supports the creation of a sustainable multi-use trail in the Adams Preserve, and would volunteer to design, build, and enter into a permanent maintenance agreement for such a trail. I urge the City of Carrboro to request amendment of the State and county easements to allow trail bicycling in the Adams Preserve.
