Urge Congress to support funding for UNICEF

For decades, bipartisan support from the U.S. Government has helped UNICEF to efficiently and effectively deliver remarkable results for children, including halving the number of children who die before their fifth birthday. Results like these – and America's leadership in achieving them – cannot continue without support from the federal government.

We need you to join us in asking Congress to support UNICEF funding to ensure the most vulnerable children can survive and thrive and every child has the opportunity for a brighter future.

UNICEF works tirelessly to ensure that every child is healthy, educated, protected and respected. Operating in 190 countries and territories, UNICEF delivers in fragile contexts, sustains critical programs where other funding is scarce, and provides long-term support beyond crises. It can't continue to do that without America's support.

Our country's investment in UNICEF created $770 million in revenue for American businesses across 37 states in 2024 and helped keep our country safe and strong.

By supporting UNICEF, the American people benefit and children thrive globally. Please act today!
Dear [Legislator Title] [Legislator Last Name],

As your constituent, I am asking you to support funding for UNICEF's core resources in FY27 at previous fiscal year levels. This mirrors the final language in the FY26 bill. UNICEF operates in the most challenging contexts across the globe, working to protect children from disease, malnutrition, violence, exploitation, and loss of learning.

America's longstanding, bipartisan support for UNICEF creates hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for American businesses and suppliers who power UNICEF's work to save children's lives and promote global stability. It also makes America safer and stronger by providing opportunities for children at risk of terrorist and criminal recruitment efforts, helping to stem migration, and preventing the spread of dangerous diseases to American shores.

• UNICEF Supports America's Economy: Investing in UNICEF strengthens our national security and creates jobs right here at home. In 2024, UNICEF invested $770 million in American businesses across 37 states to procure life-saving medicine, ready-to-use therapeutic food, and humanitarian supplies – creating thousands of jobs. UNICEF partners with industry leading, blue-chip American businesses, which helps bolster our economy, promote American values, and deliver lifesaving aid to children.

• UNICEF Improves American Safety and Security: Today, 1 in 6 children live amid conflict and insecurity, and 2025 saw the highest number of verified grave violations against children on record – violations such as killings, abductions, and sexual violence. Vulnerable children are more susceptible to recruitment by terrorists or other armed groups and violent extremism. By protecting vulnerable children and expanding their educational opportunities, UNICEF helps promote self-sufficiency and reduce the sway of terrorist recruiters. Conflict also frequently limits children's access to nutrition and safe water and forces families to flee their homes. Expanding access to basic resources creates stability and alleviates the factors that drive migration.

• UNICEF Prevents Dangerous Diseases from Reaching America: In 2024, UNICEF responded to 98 health emergencies including outbreaks of cholera, mpox, and Marburg virus disease. In humanitarian emergencies, UNICEF is also responsible for ensuring access to safe water and sanitation. This helps prevent the spread of water-borne diseases in the countries impacted by emergencies and across borders.

UNICEF was founded in 1946 to support children in the wake of WWII. For decades, bipartisan support from Congress has enabled UNICEF to achieve remarkable results, including halving the number of children who die before their fifth birthday. Results like these – and America's leadership in achieving them – cannot continue without support from the federal government.

Please support the U.S. Government's voluntary contribution to UNICEF in FY27. This annual appropriation of at least $137 million to UNICEF – level funding with FY26 – will support our economy, keep Americans secure and healthy, and save children's lives.

Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to hearing from you.
