Malnutrition can have a lasting impact on children

Proper nutrition during the first 1,000 days of a child's life has a profound impact on a child's ability to grow, learn and thrive. The damage done by malnutrition during the first years of a child's life translates into a huge economic burden for countries, costing billions of dollars in lost productivity and avoidable health care costs. Conflict, COVID-19 and climate change are combining to create hunger hotspots in some of the toughest places for a child to live.

Access to food is a human right and good nutrition should be available to all people, regardless of where they live. Progress does still continue in the fight against
hunger, yet an unacceptably large number of people still do not have enough food for an active and healthy life.

Urgent life saving action is needed now to prevent a humanitarian hunger crisis in which tens of thousands of children could die. Famine has no place in the 21st century and is entirely preventable!

World Vision is an experienced global food leader able to meet emergency hunger (and nutrition) needs at scale via projects like the ENRICH:1000 Day Journey grant. We are on the ground, responding, and ready to do more.
