Mental health is health

Things are not okay.

Cuts to health care, the strain of the pandemic and an increasing addiction crisis in Ontario have compounded the problems of an already broken mental health care system. High fees and long wait times mean people aren't getting the care they need when they need it.

This is unacceptable.

That's why Mike Schreiner and the Ontario Greens have developed a groundbreaking mental health platform. The first ever stand-alone mental health platform introduced by an Ontario political party.

Our plan will focus on prevention and lower barriers to treatment and improve patient outcomes, by making the system easier to navigate and provide solutions that include everyone. We'll do this by making mental health care:

  • Affordable by spending smarter to make it easier for people to find publicly funded professional services covered by OHIP,
  • Accessible by meeting people where they live with user-friendly pathways to the right type of care, and
  • Comprehensive with a community care approach and coordinated treatment options with an emphasis on prevention to keep us healthy.

Comprehensive, easily accessible mental health care is just one of the ways we're building the Ontario we want.

Join us and tell Doug Ford good mental health care is for everyone.
